數(shù)據(jù)科學(xué)是一種數(shù)據(jù)驅(qū)動的解決問題和科學(xué)探索方法，包括收集、管理、分析、解釋和可視化數(shù)據(jù)和分析結(jié)果的過程。它本質(zhì)上是跨學(xué)科的。數(shù)據(jù)科學(xué)碩士課程的目的是為研究生提供數(shù)據(jù)科學(xué)領(lǐng)域的有力培訓(xùn)。該項目主要由計算與數(shù)據(jù)科學(xué)學(xué)院（CCDS）領(lǐng)導(dǎo)和運營。其他幾所學(xué)校的教員也積極參與該項目，以支持數(shù)據(jù)科學(xué)的跨學(xué)科風(fēng)格。
